The defending NCCAA volleyball national champions, Campbellsville University, has announced its first two recruits for 2010: Genevieve Collette and Monica Chernichan, both of Winnipeg, Canada.

Both players were recruited heavily by former CU head coach Randy LeBleu and are the first two signees for first-year head coach Amy Eckenfels.

Collette, a 5-foot-10 right-side hitter, comes to CU from Lakeland College, where she averaged 2.55 kills per game, 1.16 service aces per game and 1.9 digs per game. she served as a team captain while there and also received a Board of Governor's scholarship for leadership and community involvement, which included being part of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Lloydminster and Rustler's Reading Program.

In high school, Collette was a member of the 2005 AAAA Provincial Finalists with College Jeanne Sauvé. She was also a finalist for Team Manitoba at the 2005 French Canadian Games held in Winnipeg. Away from volleyball, she and her twin sister Brianne teamed up in 2004 to win the SCAC Badminton Doubles Championship.
